Participant recruitment for research!

Hello friends and colleagues,

My name is Karen Washington, and I am a doctoral student at Adler University. I am currently working on my dissertation titled, “Let’s Get it on: An exploratory survey addressing the gap of sexological education in clinical training programs. I am seeking participants for my IRB-approved study. Many clinical training programs do not provide sexological education to their students. However, many students go on to practice clinically but under/unprepared for any sexual matter their clients may present with. The impact is felt by the client, whether positive or negative. Yet the client population is not represented in the research. These individuals have experiences that the scientific community needs to hear to improve the approach to clinical training, as well as the approach to treatment and care of clients. If you or someone you know may qualify, I respectfully ask that you share my study with them. Participation criteria: over 18y/o, have been or are currently in therapy, have tried to discuss any sex/sexually related topic in therapy (i.e.: behavior, preferences, issues, orientation, identity, relationship configuration).

The study can be found at the following QR code in the flyer included or the link: https://adler.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_7OgH6zZQwECzkeW. If you have any questions, you can reach the IRB about this protocol at IRB@adler.edu. You can also reach out to me directly, although that may potentially risk your confidentiality status by identifying yourself through contacting me. I can be reached at kawashington@adler.edu. My dissertation chair, Dr. Cadmona Hall, can be reached at chall@adler.edu.

Thank you for your time and consideration for my study!
